Food Drive to Benefit the Buffalo City Mission
Throughout the month of November, the HFLC Student Council ran a food drive to benefit the Buffalo City Mission. Students from Pre-K through eighth grade were asked to bring in items from the City Mission's "Most Needed" list. We are proud to announce that we collected over 200 items! The items were delivered to the City Mission the week of Thanksgiving, and were met with great appreciation. Great job, Student Council, and thank you to all our students and families who made the holidays a little bit brighter for the needy of Buffalo.
Martial Arts Demonstration
On Thursday, January 11, students in grades 5 through 8 were treated to a martial arts demonstration by Sensei Jake (Mr. Ashby), who performed several moves and even taught a few to the students. Sensei led a lively discussion about martial arts during the Boxer Rebellion, which the classes just finished studying in history. We offer our warmest thanks to Mr. Ashby for his time, and for a terrific demonstration.
